Help Families Rebuild After the Nepal Floods
Devastating flash floods have swept through communities in
Nepal, destroying homes, roads, bridges and livelihoods. Thousands of people
are still missing.
The floods struck on 26 August 2026 after a sudden surge of
water entered Nepal through the Bhote Koshi River from Tibet. Some of the
worst-affected areas include Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and surrounding
communities. Remote villages have been particularly difficult to reach
because roads and bridges have been damaged or washed away.
The latest Government of Nepal update reports:
- 1,377
Bodies Recovered
- 5,130
People still missing
- 13,656
people rescued
- Thousands
of people displaced and in need of emergency support
Government of Nepal figures, 10 September 2026. These
figures continue to change as search, rescue and verification efforts continue.
For people who have lost their homes and belongings, the
emergency does not end when the floodwater goes down. They still need food,
hygiene essentials, school supplies and basic household items.
Your £50 Can Help a Family Recover
A disaster of this scale has affected thousands of people,
including families who have lost their homes, belongings and livelihoods.
Blackburn UK Trust is raising funds to support vulnerable
people and families affected by the Nepal floods through our local response
partner, Samaj Bikash Samiti.
A donation of £50 can provide a complete emergency
survival kit for one family, including essential food, hygiene items and
basic school supplies.
These essentials can help a family put food on the table,
maintain basic hygiene and give their children the supplies they need for
school.
Your support can help people face the days ahead with food, dignity and hope.
