PAKISTAN FLASH FLOOD

Pakistan Flash Flood: A Devastating Crisis
Our brothers and sisters in northern Pakistan are facing one of the gravest humanitarian crises of recent times. Flash floods triggered by relentless monsoon rains have devastated Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), and surrounding regions. The scale of loss and suffering is immense and it continues to grow.
Key Facts & Figures
- Since late June, more than 657 lives have been lost across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).
- Since 15 August alone, over 337 lives have been lost, with approximately210 people still missing.
- More than 10 to 12 villages have been devastated.
- The district of Buner has tragically borne the brunt, with 274 deaths.
- Over 68 houses and 3 schools were destroyed, with Swat alone losing 49 homes.
Homes, schools, and vital infrastructure have been swept away or damaged beyond repair. Roads and bridges have vanished beneath floodwaters, cutting off access to essential aid and complicating rescue efforts. Livestock and crops, the lifelines of many families have been washed away.
