On April 8, 2026, Lebanon experienced its deadliest day since the escalation began on March 2. In a sudden wave of attacks, over 100 airstrikes were carried out within minutes, targeting multiple regions, including central Beirut during peak hours. This marked a turning point, escalating the situation into a nationwide humanitarian emergency.

The Human Cost

•2,500+ people have been killed
•7,800+ injured across Lebanon
•1.2 million+ people displaced nationwide
•Over 1 million displaced within the first weeks of the escalation
•Hundreds of children killed or injured (no verified “600 children in 5 weeks” figure confirmed by UN sources)
•130,000+ people in shelters at peak capacity
•Dozens of hospitals & health facilities are damaged or strained, with severe medicine shortages.
•Critical infrastructure (bridges, roads, crossings) was damaged, restricting humanitarian access.
