Across the world, millions continue to endure the harsh realities of displacement, poverty, and conflict, often without access to basic needs. Families rely on aid for survival, especially children, who suffer most in silence. What we see on screens and social media barely scratches the surface of the reality they face every day.
In these moments of crisis, it is our heroes, the volunteers, who step forward to make the most profound impact. For years, the heroes of Blackburn UK Trust have been on the ground, delivering immediate and meaningful support, ensuring every donation reaches its intended destination.
✦︎ 28 Volunteers From Fundraising to Frontline
In our most recent deployment to Jordan in August 2025, 28 selfless volunteers from Blackburn joined forces to raise over £100,000 all of which was used to purchase and distribute vital aid for Palestinian and Syrian refugees in the region.
From food packs and warm clothing to hygiene kits, school supplies, and children's toys this mission was about restoring the basics of life and bringing moments of joy to those who have lost so much.
And these volunteers didn't just raise the funds they flew to Jordan and personally handed out the aid. They looked into the eyes of the people they were helping. They listened to their stories. They held the hands of children who had seen more pain than any child should.
✦︎ Ordinary People Making Extraordinary Impact
These 28 volunteers came from all walks of life teachers, students, parents, and professionals but what united them was a shared purpose: to serve humanity.
They sacrificed time, energy, and comfort.
They raised funds tirelessly through events, online campaigns, and personal efforts.
And they travelled miles to ensure that the help reached those who needed it most.
Every item they distributed carried not just material value, but also a powerful message: You are not forgotten
✦︎ Proof That Age Doesn't Limit Impact
Among our 28 heroes, one story stood out. Umar, just 9 years old, was our youngest volunteer. Determined to help, he walked over 50 miles and raised more than £5,000 all in support of refugees he had never even met.
But what impacted Umar the most wasn't the walking it was what he saw once he arrived.
"He was just shocked at the situation and poverty that he witnessed."
Children just like him without shoes, without food, without toys. He couldn't believe how little they had. And in that moment, he promised himself he would return.
Umar is proof that the future of our Ummah is still bright that even at a young age, compassion can burn powerfully in the heart.
May Allah ﷻ bless us with more youth like Umar full of concern, empathy, and action.

Each member of the team was chosen for this special trip because of their unique qualities kindness, compassion, and a genuine commitment to others. What matters most is that we truly care, and together, we can make a meaningful difference."

"Alhamdulillah, I was blessed with the opportunity to visit Jordan, distributing aid to Palestinian and Syrian refugees with Blackburn UK Trust. What we see on our phones is nothing compared to the reality of the harsh conditions they have to endure daily. They don't have the luxury of warmth, water, and clean sanitation. Basic food for babies and children. Everything and more we take for granted. It was heartbreaking to witness the desperation in their eyes for a food pack, clothing, toys, school accessories, and the list goes on. Spending a few days with Blackburn UK Trust opened my eyes to the dire need for aid our brothers and sisters need. Whatever we give is never enough, but we need to continue. We need to dig deep and give what we can. I urge everyone to visit our brothers and sisters suffering all over the globe not only as a reminder to be thankful for what we have, but to give them hope. One thing I will take with me from my journey to Jordan is the smiles and laughter of the children. The gratitude. The energy and excitement of them receiving aid. Their smiles will always be etched in my heart. JazakAllah khair to BBUK Trust, and the amazing team, for giving me the opportunity and JazakAllah khair to all my donors for having faith in me. In'shaa Allah, I will return again."

"I want to sincerely thank the Blackburn UK Trust team. From the very beginning, we were shown nothing but kindness, respect, and care - it truly felt like being part of one big family. Alhamdulillah, the work you are doing on the ground is inspiring and so needed. My experience was incredible, and I would gladly do it again. Seeing the difficult reality that refugees in Jordan face was eye-opening and humbling. I pray Allah (SWT) accepts all your efforts, rewards you immensely, and grants you all Jannatul Firdous. Ameen."

"My experience going to Jordan for deployment was phanomanal,, emotional and very overwhelming experience. Seeing every thing with my own eyes was sad, we did so much to help the widows,, children with food and hygiene boxes. It felt good we gave hope to the families and orphans. Was also suprised the amount of money l raised didn't expect so much support from my community and friends Allhumdulilah. Also so greatful l got to see with my own eyes how the money was spent in Gaza /Syrian camps and orphans. Also seeing the happiness and joy and children's faces made my day.. So grateful l got to make it here with the will of Allah 🤲🏽. Do l want to come again definitely yesss in sha Allah by the will of Allah."

"Being on the ground in Jordan with Blackburn UK Trust delivering vital aid to Palestinian and Syrian refugees was a truly humbling experience. It was heartbreaking to see the conditions in which people live and yet they are so resilient. Small kids so happy to receive a few sweets, a cuddly toy or a colouring book. Adults pleading for a food pack that will last them a month. In contrast we hoard so much food, clothes, jewellery etc. and are still not satisfied. May Allah help us to open our purse strings wider to help these people and ease their suffering."

"I was recently deployed in Jordan by BBUK trust as a volunteer at Palestinian and Syrian refugee camps. It was an eye opening experience. I am grateful to BBUK Trust that they gave me this opportunity to work there and see the ground realities. The living conditions are worse there than one could even imagine. Alhamdullilah with your donations BBUK trust was able to provide food packs, hygiene kits etc for 1000 families but the need is immense. Please keep donating generously and continue to support BBUK Trust as they are committed to make difference in their lives!
JazakAllah Khair"

"My experience in Jordan with Blackburn Uk Trust was one of the most insightful experiences I've had. I was able to see different parts of Jordan and how poverty affected them. We saw refugee camps, orphanage centres and we were able to help them in different ways. For example some days we gave out food parcels, other days we visited camps and played with the children and talked to the adults, another day we gave out hot meals and school supplies and clothes. Due to seeing a variety of cases, I felt like I was able to get a better understanding of the state of the ummah, and it definitely inspired me to continue charity work, and make personal changes in my life. Blackburn Uk trust also made the trip incredibly enjoyable and easy.We were well taken care of, the trip was well organised and structured, and the days felt productive. They were also very accommodating and helped whenever we needed."
