Support Syrian Families in Crisis

Join Our Car Wash Fundraiser for Syria on 26th May 2025

This Spring Bank Holiday (26th May), Blackburn UK Trust is hosting a charity car wash to raise funds for our brothers and sisters suffering in Syria. We operate on a 100% donation policy, and this is a 100% Zakat-applicable programme. Every penny raised will go directly towards providing urgent relief to displaced families, malnourished children, and vulnerable widows and orphans.

But why Syria? Why now? The crisis is far from over, millions still need our help.

The Ongoing Crisis in Syria: A Humanitarian Catastrophe

Since the beginning of 2024, over 861,966 Syrians have returned to their war-torn homeland, while 1.2 million internally displaced persons (IDPs) have struggled to rebuild their lives. Yet, the situation remains dire, families lack food, shelter, and medical care, and children are paying the heaviest price.

Syria’s Children: A Generation in Peril

After 14 years of conflict, Syria’s children face unimaginable suffering:

  • 7 million children need humanitarian assistance.
  • Over 500,000 children under 5 suffer from severe malnutrition.
  • 2.4 million children are out of school, forced into labor or early marriage.
  • 5 million children live in fear of explosive remnants of war.

Without education, protection, or proper nutrition, these children are trapped in a cycle of poverty and violence.

Widows and Orphans: The Forgotten Victims

The war has left thousands of women widowed and children orphaned, forcing them into so-called "Widow Camps", where survival is a daily battle.

Life Inside the Widow Camps

  • 1 in 4 women report witnessing sexual abuse regularly.
  • 95% of women feel hopeless, with no access to healthcare or work.
  • 58% of boys and 49% of girls over 11 are forced into child labor.
  • Girls as young as 14 are married off to escape abuse.

These women and children endure neglect, violence, and despair, with no safe way out.

What You Made Possible in Syria

Every pound you donate is an act of Sadaqah, Zakat, or Lillah, purifying your wealth and saving lives in Syria. Because of your generosity, Blackburn UK Trust has been able to make a real difference on the ground in Syria.

Allah says in Qur’an:

"And they give food, despite their love for it, to the poor, the orphan, and the captive..."
—Surah Al-Insan, Ayah 8

Blackburn UK Trust’s Work in Syria

While the crisis is vast, Blackburn UK Trust has been on the ground, delivering life-changing projects to help Syrians rebuild their lives. Here’s how your donations are making a difference:

1. Education: Rebuilding Schools for a Brighter Future

We’ve refurbished schools in Syria, giving children safe spaces to learn and escape the trauma of war. Education is their only path to a better future and your support is what keeps these classrooms open and dreams alive.

"The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity."
– Riyad as-Salihin

2. Solar-Powered Water Plant: Providing Clean Water for Thousands

We’re currently building a solar-powered water plant that will serve over 32,000 people, reaching villages up to 10 kilometers away. This sustainable project runs on 120 solar panels and high-pressure motors, each panel costs £300, and your donation can help us complete this life-saving initiative.

“ He who gives a Muslim a drink of water where water is found is as though he had set free a slave; and he who gives a Muslim a drink of water where water is not found is as though he had given him life.”
—Mishkat al-Masabih

3. Sponsoring Widows and Orphans

Through our Widow Sponsorship Programme, we provide monthly financial support to widows, helping them feed their families and regain independence. We also sponsor orphans in Hifz programmes (Quran memorization), giving them education, shelter, and hope through our Hifz Orphan Sponsorship initiative.

"The one who looks after a widow and a poor person is like the Mujahid in the cause of Allah, or like the one who fasts all the day and stands (in prayer) all the night."
– Jami` at-Tirmidhi

4. Qurbani Projects: Providing Meat to Starving Families

This Dhul Hijjah, support our Qurbani project in Syria. One sheep (£215) can feed multiple families for many, it’s the only meat they’ll receive all year. Your sacrifice can bring hope and nourishment to those who need it most.

Our Prophet ﷺ said:

“For every hair of the Qurbani animal, there is a reward.”
—Mishkat al-Masabih

Your Support is Needed Again

Because of your donations, we've already changed countless lives. But thousands more are still waiting for help. This is your chance to earn endless rewards. With your continued support, we can deliver the urgent aid they desperately need.

Allah says in Qur’an:

"Whatever good you put forward for yourselves - you will find it with Allāh."
–Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayah 110
